Advance Voting Period
The Advance Voting Period for online voting will begin on October 1, 2026 and will remain open until Election Day. Internet voting is available from October 1, 2026, 10:00 a.m., to October 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.

Are you eligible to vote?
You are eligible to vote in the 2026 Wasaga Beach Municipal Election if, on Voting Day (October 26, 2026), you:

Are a Canadian citizen
-
Are 18 years of age or older
-
Live in Wasaga Beach, or
-
Own or rent property in Wasaga Beach (including tenants), or are the spouse of an owner or tenant
-
Are not prohibited from voting under Ontario's Municipal Elections Act
You may also be eligible to vote if:

You own or rent property in Wasaga Beach but live elsewhere.

You're a student who lives in Wasaga Beach while attending school.
-
You rent your home in Wasaga Beach.
Register to Vote
Are you registered to vote? Elections Ontario is responsible for maintaining the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario (voters’ list). This list includes individuals who are eligible to vote in provincial and municipal elections across Ontario.

If you or your partner own or rent property in a municipality other than your primary residence, you may be eligible to vote in more than one municipal election. Please visit the Elections Ontario Website for more information.
Ballot Question
On February 12, 2026, Council passed a by-law to place a question on the 2026 Municipal Election Ballot. The question that will be posed to voters is:
Q: 'Are you in favour of moving to a ward system?
A: 'Yes' or 'No'

Updating your School Support
As of January 1, 2024, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is no longer responsible for collecting voter information for municipal elections. However, MPAC continues to collect and maintain school support information for Ontario property owners.
For the 2026 Municipal Election, any changes to school support designation that were intended to affect voting eligibility for school board elections had to be submitted to MPAC by June 1, 2026. The deadline has now passed, and changes made after June 1, 2026 will not affect your school support designation for the 2026 Municipal Election.
Property owners may still update their school support designation at any time through MPAC's Online School Support Tool. Any changes made after June 1, 2026 will be reflected in MPAC records and may apply to future elections.
